The Eisenhower Expressway was shut down in Chicago's western suburbs Wednesday night due to a crash. Traffic reports indicated that the Eisenhower (I-290) was shut down in both directions between 17th and 25th avenues in Maywood.

Four people, including two Chicago police officers, were injured after a crash on the West Side Wednesday night, police said.

The person was struck and killed in the westbound lanes of the Eisenhower near 25th Street about 7 p.m. after crossing over the center median, Illinois State Police said. They were struck after several vehicles crashed while in the eastbound lanes of traffic of the Eisenhower,

Both the eastbound and westbound Eisenhower were shut down between 25th Avenue and Mannheim Road, Illinois State police said.

Illinois State Police said, after a crash on the eastbound lanes of expressway near 25th Street in Broadview, someone from one of vehicles ended up on the other side of the median and was hit and killed by a car in the westbound lanes.
