FLORENCE -- Boy Scouts around the country are preparing for the group’s 100th Anniversary Celebration Jamboree, but Avery Holcombe, a Pee Dee Boy Scout, is also preparing to be a hometown reporter.

Avery’s Troop 1929 Scoutmaster James McIlrath said Holcombe worked hard to go through the ranks and when he applied to be a correspondent for the troop, leaders knew he would fit the bill.
