Jayson Tatum delivered the Celtics a near crunch time win instead of a loss that would've been defined by late free throw shooting.
The Celtics got a mix of good and bad news ahead of their tilt against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night at TD Garden. The team ruled out Al Horford (toe sprain) and Sam Hauser (hip impingement) for the second straight game while All-Star forward Jayson Tatum (knee tendiopathy) was upgraded from questionable to available about hour before tip off.
Jayson Tatum struggled from the field shooting 5-14 with 19 points while Jaylen Brown carried a majority of the load shooting 10-23 and finishing with 28 points. Payton Pritchard added 15 points off the bench including the unsuccessful full-court heave as time expired.
The Boston Celtics are set to cross swords against their conference rivals Chicago Bulls in a regular season matchup on Wednesday.
