Two of the Winnipeg Jets‘ biggest stars are taking a bit of a break. With NHL action set to resume this weekend following the conclusion of the 4 Nations Face-Off, the Jets will take on a pair of Central Division rivals in the St.

The Winnipeg Jets have built an eight-game winning streak on the strength of their scoring depth. They could be even stronger up front coming out of the 4 Nations Face-Off break with the return of captain Adam Lowry.

Adam Lowry didn’t show up for practice on Wednesday with his face painted with the Maple Leaf on one half, Stars and Stripes on the other – but he may as well have. The Winnipeg Jets captain is in a unique position going into Thursday’s final at the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Josh Morrissey scored the tying goal in the final minute of regulation and Mark Scheifele got the winner 1:33 into overtime as the Winnipeg Jets rallied to beat the San Jose Sharks 2-1 for their franchise-record 10th straight win.

The Winnipeg Jets packed up their new sun tans along with their eight-game winning streak and hit the air for St. Louis on Friday. A Saturday date with the division-rival Blues (25-26-5) seems as good a way as any for the NHL’s front-runner (39-14-3) to get back in the saddle.
