NFL issues heavy fine to Lions QB Jared Goff's teammate
Washington Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu was not flagged for levying a big helmet-to-helmet hit on Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff. The NFL fined Luvu $16,883 for a blow to the head/neck area in the Divisional Round playoff contest at Ford Field. Unfortunately for the Lions, the play eventually resulted in a pick-six interception.
Washington Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu was not called for a roughing the passer penalty during last week's divisional playoff game versus the Detroit Lions that would have nullified a pick 6. However, the NFL announced a $16,883 fine for Luvu on Saturday, saying he was being punished for a "blow to the head/neck."
