The Avalanche lost 3-1 to the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Saturday. Artturi Lehkonen scored for Colorado while Scott Wedgewood stopped 12 of the 14 shots he faced. The Avalanche posted 27 shots on goal, including a pair from Martin Necas in his Colorado debut.

The second period hasn’t been great for the Avalanche as of late. Especially on this homestand, where both the Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers dominated play in the middle frame.

Casey Mittelstadt had the type of performance ... for Colorado to have a successful playoff run. The team needs Mittelstadt. I wrote about this yesterday, but I do wonder if Wedgewood gets the nod against the New York Rangers on Tuesday.

The Dallas Stars travelled to Denver, Colorado, on Saturday afternoon to take on the Colorado Avalanche. This is their second meeting this season, with the Avalanche taking the first game 5-3 in November. In a tight contest until the second period arrived, the Avalanche secured the victory, 6-3.
