JAKARTA: The Central Java administration has urged residents to remain vigilant against hydrometeorological disasters as the province will likely continue to see moderate to heavy rainfall until next month.

BMKG stated that extreme weather conditions could potentially trigger hydrometeorological disasters in Central Java Province until February.

BMKG forecasts West Jakarta to be cloudy from morning to noon. Thick clouds are predicted to start appearing at 11:00 a.m. with no chance of rain throughout the day. Rain is predicted to fall from 9:00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m., followed by overcast weather for the rest of the day.

"Sixteen people were confirmed dead. For injured victims, 10 have been referred to hospitals and the nearest community health centre," Adj. Sr. Comr. Doni Prakoso, police chief in Pekalongan city, told local broadcaster Metro TV.
