The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Chicago Blackhawks, 3-2 on Thursday night at the Lenovo Center. The win gave the Canes seven straight games in which they earned at least one point. The bug is hitting Carolina as Sebastian Aho and Taylor Hall were too ill to play.
Andersen played his 500 th game on Jan. 20 against the Blackhawks in Chicago. He is the second goalie to reach the career milestone with the Hurricanes. On Jan. 23, he recorded his 300 th career win after the Hurricanes defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Carolina Hurricanes are in a very good position to take advantage of the rising salary cap.
