The top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee said the former Trump administration official had “neither the experience, the judgment or the temperament” to lead federal law enforcement.

Sen. Dick Durbin expressed doubts about U.S. Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi in a series of posts on X Friday morning.

Durbin also inquired as to her position on possible pardons for Jan. 6 participants. Bondi indicated that pardons fell under the president's purview but that she would advise Trump on a "case by case basis.

Bondi – Trump’s pick to head the Justice Department – has vowed, in a 2023 interview on Fox News, to ‘’prosecute the prosecutors – the bad ones’’ who investigated Donald Trump.

Trump wants to dish out pardons among the more than 1,500 defendants charged or convicted for the riot, plans that Senate Republicans are reluctant to embrace.
