SALT LAKE CITY — Lance Lavizzo, the self-proclaimed mayor of the Liberty Park basketball court and city itself, has fond memories of coming to the park for pickup games with friends.

Construction begins on Penn Meadows Park basketball court, which will feature Mega Slam hoops. The hoops have glass backboards and are built to be durable to allow for dunking and hanging on the rim.
