As long-time viewers will recall, the Dr. Harrison Wells we first met wasn’t really Harrison Wells at all but was instead Thawne impersonating him in order to ultimately manipulate Barry.

The episode revealed that when Eobard Thawne (the true name of Reverse-Flash) traveled back in time and became stranded, he took over Harrison Wells’ body.

Then in flashbacks we got to see Cavanagh play the original Earth-1 Wells that Thawne killed. In Season 2, we got to meet Earth-2 Wells, who came over to try and stop Zoom and save his daughter Jesse.

We learn that Wells, or rather Eobard Thawne, had been fighting the Flash to a draw for a long time until finally he learned the secret… The Flash airs Tuesday at 8 PM on the CW.

There may be a small hint embedded in a comment Flash star Tom Cavanagh — whose many characters include the version of Thawne with Harrison Wells' face — made just before The Flash Season 4 began.

However, the mystery involving Harrison Wells and his connection to the villain made it appear as if the writers were attempting to convince us that he was the villainous speedster instead of Thawne.

If the original Harrison Wells is back from the dead, this is huge. Keep in mind Eobard Thawne took on Wells' identity in 2000, so everything that happened after was Reverse-Flash in disguise.
