French Polynesia legalized same-sex marriage in 2013, bans discrimination based on sexual orientation, and takes hate crimes against LGBTQ+ people very seriously.

The agreement was signed between Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown and French Polynesia's President Moetai Brotherson.
