BOONE, N.C. — A man stole jewelry from a North Carolina Walmart after getting a baseball bat and damaging the display cases, according to Boone police. The theft happened about 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

There are metal brackets on the back of the display case, making it easy to mount on a wall. It’s large enough to hold a 33-inch bat and baseball.
