Republican state leaders are confident that this is the year Texas passes a robust school-choice program that would allow public dollars to be spent on private schools.

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The Texas House filed House Bill 3 Thursday. HB 3 would allocate taxpayer money for private schooling. The House is asking that the amount of money that goes toward the program would not be a set amount, but instead would equal 85 percent of the statewide average funding going toward public schools.
