Two explosive projectiles detonated outside the Russian consulate in Marseille, France, on the third anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Three projectiles were thrown over the perimeter wall of Russia's consulate in the southern French port city of Marseille on Monday, two of which exploded, Marseille police said. The incendiary devices were thrown into the gardens of the consulate in France's second-largest city by population.

French police arrested two men on charges of throwing explosive devices at the Russian consulate in Marseille, the prosecutor's office confirmed on Tuesday. The explosives, made with plastic soda bottles, were thrown at the consulate’s facade early Monday morning, coinciding with the third anniversary of the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
