Back in 2004, most cell phones were dull, thick, and made out of plastic. Motorola reversed this trend when it released the Razr V3 with a sleek and premium-feeling handset made out of metal.

While the Razer V3 started out as an expensive phone, Motorola started lowering the price of the handset soon after its launch. In late 2005, a new variant of the phone, the Razr V3i, was launched.
