Konami finally confirmed yesterday that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will release on August 28, 2025, with the new teaser trailer also revealing the Snake vs. Monkey minigame is similarly making a comeback.

Snake Eater may have been inadvertently spoiled early. Fans on ResetEra noticed that a release date of August 28th was shared on the PlayStation Store, alongside a new trailer from Konami. Presumably,

Sony may have spoiled the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta, though the story beats will be very familiar to anyone who played the original.

As expected, the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater release date was confirmed during Sony’s State of Play 2025 broadcast alongside a new trailer. The August 28, 2025 release date leaked last week via the PlayStation Store, which also made a new trailer available. Both were confirmed officially during State of Play.

The phrase "Snake vs ???" is plastered over the silhouette of Bomberman, which would be an entirely new mode not seen in the game before. Presumably, it'll simply swap the Ape Escape character models out for Bombermen,

The trailer ends with a really quite upsetting depiction an Ape Escape monkey slapping its butt. From this we can assume, as Eurogamer did for me, that this indicates the return of the Snake vs Monkey minigame, for completion’s sake.
