While most iPhones that currently support iOS 18 will be able to use iOS 26, the iPhone XS, XS Max, and iPhone XR are probably going to get cut from the compatibility list.

The models being dropped in iOS 19 are rumored to be iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. The same leaker said the seventh-generation iPad would not be compatible with iPadOS 19.

Not every iPhone that supports iOS 26 will enjoy all the updates in AI features. Genmoji, upgraded photo editing, and latest Siri features can be used on any device with an A17 Pro chip or newer.

The iOS 26 update won't run on 2018's iPhone XR or XS, and iPadOS 26 won't run on 2019's 7th-generation iPad.

The ‌iPhone‌ XR, ‌iPhone‌ XS, and ‌iPhone‌ XS Max all have an A12 Bionic chip, so it looks like iOS 19 will discontinue support for that chip.
