German lorry and bus manufacturer Daimler Truck sold significantly fewer commercial vehicles last year, the company reported on Tuesday. Worldwide sales fell by 12% to 460,409 vehicles in 2024, with a continued fall in sales in the weakening European and Asian markets helping drive the decline.

Daimler Truck North America resumes sales of its diesel trucks in Oregon on Monday, after clarifying recently implemented sales rules with the Department of Environmental Quality.

The nation’s largest maker of large trucks will once again sell diesel trucks in its home state. Daimler Trucks North America said in a statement late Jan. 13 that after a hiatus of nearly a month, it will resume sales in Oregon.

One of the world’s largest commercial truck manufacturers is refusing to sell its diesel big rigs in Oregon, even though its North America headquarters is in Portland.

German truckmakers Daimler Truck and Traton reported on Tuesday declining 2024 sales mainly due to tepid demand in Europe, in particular in their home country Germany.
