(FOX40.COM) — An arrest has been made in connection to Tuesday’s Crows Landing shooting that followed a 2-year-old child being fatally struck by a car, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred at Crows Landing Road near South 7th Street around 3:35 p.m.

STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. — Two crashes were reported on Crows Landing Road near Modesto Sunday evening. One crash was reported at the intersection with West Main Avenue around 7:06 p.m.

According to a news release, the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was southbound on Crows Landing Road, approaching Ehrlich Road, at about 35 mph. It was raining at the time.
