In a July update on the construction at the Joan Means Khabele Bathhouse Rehabilitation at Barton Springs, the city of Austin said there may be a delay on reopening.

Beginning June 1, the city of Austin said the Barton Springs Pool would be closing an hour earlier.

While to outsiders, Barton Springs might just appear to be a pool, to the community of Austin, it’s a landmark, a tether to the deep, rich, and oftentimes troubled history of Austin.
