Woolworths has the largest customer loyalty scheme in Australia, with about 10 million members, although not every member has an iPhone or will be keen to use Apple's digital wallet.

Woolworths is dumping the expiry dates on gift cards. This change will also apply to all Woolworths cards purchased on or after March 31, 2017.

“There is a $0 value, used as an identifier on Woolworths Online only; or $80 value, which is both an identifier and a gift card,” states one of the few online descriptions of the program.
