Loquat, or Japanese plum, will grow to 25 feet tall. It is a shade-tolerant evergreen tree that is a well-formed, disciplined grower and makes an excellent row or specimen plant.

Farther south, where the winters are more mild, Mexican olive can grow to 25 feet, but here in San Antonio expect the plant to freeze back to the ground every few years.
