The B.C. Supreme Court has ordered WestJet to hand over all its files on harassment of flight attendants in a class-action lawsuit alleging widespread misconduct by pilots.
WestJet says a proposed class-action lawsuit that accuses the company of failing to provide a harassment-free workplace for female employees is an abuse of process that should be thrown out of court.
The settlement is for WestJet Travel Bank credits valued at $12,500,000CAD, before deduction of class counsel fees, administration costs, reasonable disbursement and an honorarium for the plaintiff.
WestJet’s guidelines also cap meal expenses to $45/day/per guest in the event that meal vouchers are not available. Transport between the airport and hotel, it reads, will be reimbursed in full.
