Built in Scotland, the Cutty Sark left London on its first voyage on Feb. 16, 1870, proceeding around Cape Hope to Shanghai just over threemonths later.

Firefighters tackled a blaze on the Cutty Sark this morning. A small part of deck three and some of the hull's timbers were alight and were left damaged in the fire at 7.21 am today.
