Republican businessman Eric Hovde finally conceded defeat on Monday in a razor-thin race for a U.S. Senate seat in Wisconsin, claiming that a Democrat-recruited third-party candidate siphoned off the votes that would have secured him the victory.

As Pennsylvania's razor-thin U.S. Senate race heads to a recount, allies of President-elect Donald Trump have claimed Sen. Bob Casey is working to steal an election, drawing false parallels between Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results and Casey's decision not to concede in his reelection bid as votes are tabulated.

Wisconsin Republican U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde has conceded defeat in the race narrowly won by Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin, saying he will not pursue a recount.

In a video posted to social media Eric Hovde conceded defeat to Tammy Baldwin while repeating false claims about Milwaukee absentee ballots.

GOP candidate Eric Hovde claimed there were "troubling issues around these absentee ballots and their timing."

On the same day he referred to his loss to Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin as "brutally hard and painful" and a "gut-wrenching punch to the solar plexus" in a radio interview, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde also posted a video leaving open the possibility of requesting a recount.
