Alas, Mulligan suffers a lot in his time as Toxin and is eventually killed by Blackheart in 2011's Venom #11, though the symbiote survives. Most recently he bonded with teenager Bren Waters.

After being featured throughout the series, Toxin's final appearance to date is in Venom (Vol. 5) #28, where the symbiote saved Bren's life only to become dormant and unresponsive within him.

No matter how the symbiote came to be, though, Toxin is sure to set its sights on Eddie. When Mulligan dies in the comics, the villain Jack O’Lantern convinces Venom to take the symbiote.
