Tom Scholz, accomplished in scientific endeavors from an early age, wanted to be a rock star. He formed a few bands in the early 70s in an effort to pursue his dream in the standard manner.

Boston sold a ton of albums in their time together, and they also scored some big singles, as these five hits prove.

"My wife was at her computer playing our tunes, and I asked whether it was us playing live," said Boston founder Tom Scholz. "She said, 'It's some guy in North Carolina singing your songs.' ...

One thing is for sure, it looks unlikely that Tom Scholz will ever deliver a record that he’s not completely happy with. To this day the man remains a perfectionist with a single-minded vision.
