Yet another report of problems with the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. This time the symptoms involve a suddenly dead Type Cover, a missing driver — and no help from Microsoft.
Through Microsoft, you can order a Surface Pro 8 with an Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage for $1,000. That's a better deal for anyone that doesn't need a Type Cover.
Unfortunately for current Surface Pro Type Cover owners, the Surface Pro 8 uses an all-new connector due to the new design and shape. It does, however, work with the newer Surface Pro X Type Cover.
