The Mount Fremont Lookout hike begins at Sunrise Visitor Center, which is on the northern side of Mount Rainier National Park and is pretty easy to access from Seattle (but it is a two-hour drive).

Visitors can schedule the reservations online in advance. Mount Rainier National Park first implemented timed reservations for Sunrise and Paradise last year.

Mount Rainier National Park says the road to the Sunrise visitors' center at 6,400 feet has been cleared. Crews are still digging out buildings and working to restore power and water service.

If you plan to visit Sunrise between July 11 and 31, you can book your reservation starting May 16 at 8 a.m. Reservations for Aug. 1 to Sept. 1 will be available on June 6 at 8 a.m.
