Growing community The project is supported by the Telus Atlantic Canada Community Board, which funds small community projects in Atlantic Canada to the tune of $500,000 each year.

The community garden project is being funded by donations. The lumber was courtesy of the Edmonton Christian School, which had been asked by the McQueen Community League to partner on the project.
Daniel O’Brien, a resident at Flora Street, who helped to start the community garden project in 2023, said the water butts have made “a massive difference” to the space.
