Slow lorises are on the list of the 25 most endangered primates. The reasons include habitat destruction due to deforestation for agriculture, as well as wild animal trafficking.

The Slow Loris is a case of an animal being too cute for its own good. Besides having a babyish set of huge eyes, the Loris is furry, small, quiet, and apparently enjoys being tickled.

They may look like cute real-life Furbys or Ewoks from “Star Wars,” but slow lorises are not meant to be kept as pets, says Oxford Brookes University’s Professor Anna Nekaris.
