The city spokesman said the greenway system in Sevierville started as a vision in the 1980s. The first greenway was built in 1998.

Sevierville’s portion includes $3 million for preliminary engineering, $1.023 million for right-of-way, $4.474 million for construction and $3.5 million for the greenway.
