Nobody wants popcorn on their ceilings. Like cork walls, mirror tiles and avocado- green shag carpet, acoustic ceiling texture was all the rage in the 1970s and 1980s.

Experts estimate that for experienced DIY’ers, it can take about 20 hours to remove 500 square feet of popcorn texture from the ceiling. For the less experienced, it will likely be longer.
