Thousands of people travelled to Dundalk at the weekend to see the relics of St Bernadette as they rested in St Patrick’s Church as part of a historic tour of Ireland.

As people pass, some want to lay a hand on the stand, some stare reverentially, while others simply pause. Think of the relics of St Bernadette almost as religious rock stars.
