Oregon Zoo announces ‘fun to say’ name of new baby elephant
PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN) — The Oregon Zoo has officially named Rose-Tu’s baby! The zoo announced Thursday morning that the young Asian elephant calf will be named Tula-Tu, a name that they say fits her well.
Portland’s brand new baby elephant finally has her name
Rose-Tu, one of the Asian elephants that live at the Oregon Zoo, gave birth to a calf on Saturday, Feb. 1 after 20 months of pregnancy. So far, that calf has learned to walk (immediately), started to develop trunk control, met her auntie Shine and even appeared on the “Today” show. And now, finally, she has a name: Tula-Tu.
