Ukrainian drone attacks sparked a massive oil depot fire near Russia’s Black Sea resort of Sochi, Russian authorities have said. Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of the Krasnodar region, said that drone debris had sparked a fire after hitting a fuel tank, adding that 127 firefighters were working on the scene.

More than 120 firefighters were trying to extinguish a blaze at an oil depot in the Russian city of Sochi that was sparked by a Ukrainian drone attack, regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said early on Sunday on the Telegram messaging app.

Air defenses were activated earlier, and thick black smoke has been reported across the Russian city of Sochi following a major attack from Ukraine
