The current record holder is Steven Milton of Eugene, Oregon, who created a 4,600lb ball using over 175,000 rubber bands. It was recorded as the world's largest in November 2006 in Chicago.

She wrapped it around the “waist” of the rubber-band ball to measure the circumference: It’s 35 inches. By still another standard, it’s a four-year assemblage.
