Dambo was able to do just that with Mama Rosa, particularly when he visited the city's public works yard in 2024 and found a pile of old lamp posts that once lit the streets of the Wauwatosa Village.

The city had the manufacturer, Sternberg Lighting, repurpose the original lamp posts, and the lights got new life not just in Dambo's sculpture, but also along the path of the new park.

Danish recycling artist Thomas Dambo's Wauwatosa troll stands at around 24 feet tall and is made of local repurposed materials, including lamp posts from The Village of Wauwatosa.
