Grand Splash/Facebook The annual Grand Splash set for Tuesday in Montreal’s Old Port is officially cancelled due to heavy rain “compromising water quality,” organizers said Monday night.
There’s so much of water, not just during the title song — cue iconic umbrella and lamppost — but also in the grand finale that patrons in the front rows are likely to get wet.
"Rain chains are designed to guide water in a controlled way, but in intense storms, the sheer volume of rain can overwhelm the chain, causing water to splash outside its intended path," says Marie.
