Officials say customers have been called or approached by people offering to sell a "power saving device" — claiming it could save customers up to 40 per cent on their electricity bills.
After paying, customers might receive a cheap, non-functional plastic device, or sometimes nothing at all. These devices don’t reduce electricity usage. They might even waste more power.
