BERLIN — A German club’s supporters are planning to replace real-life fans with plastic ones when the Bundesliga resumes — and raise some money for a child’s medical treatment in the process.

In 2018 the London Marathon used over 919,000 plastic bottles. In 2019 the plan was to use a little over 700,000 plastic bottles and 200,000 edible seaweed pods.

The Run Wales website said runners would also be "taken off the results if seen discarding their rubbish outside of a water stop or not with a marshal". About 3,000 runners took part.
