The tragedies this past month have since shined additional light on the concerns over shortages at air traffic control towers. Locally, they have led to an examination of pilot-submitted reports that revealed how Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport saw nine midair close calls in the last decade.

At least two people are dead following a mid-air crash at an airport in Arizona. This comes just over a week since the last deadly plane crash in the state.
