The Entrance is known as the pelican capital of Australia and the daily feeding is an institution, taking place at 3.30pm, year-round, at the foreshore, about 100 metres from the Oaks.

One of the pleasant daily rituals at The Entrance is the pelican feeding which occurs in the park at 3.30 p.m. There is also an arts-and-crafts market just outside the visitors' centre on Sundays.
