Hockey Hall of Famer Patrick Roy became the first goalie in NHL history to reach a massive milestone on Jan. 20, 2003.

Roy won two Stanley Cups with the Avalanche, while Varlamov was on the team Roy coached that won the Presidents' Trophy.

The record isn't what Roy, Lamoriello or others were hoping for, but players still believe in Roy's message and style.
