While editing Nordeman’s work at the 2024 Oscar party, I was struck by a portrait of actor Joey King, seemingly mid-gasp in a laugh. At first glance, the image feels humorous, even lighthearted.

At one party, I remember another photographer yelling abuse at the P.R. And I remember a photographer punching a P.R. person at an event I was photographing in New York.
