Paddington in Peru is fine. It's fine. Olivia Colman is obviously having a ball as the nun, who sings and plays guitar (hence the nods to The Sound of Music) and clearly has a secret.

“Paddington 2” (2017) was the high point of the series, hailed by many as a masterpiece, and the third film, “Paddington in Peru,” was always going to be a bit of a letdown.

In his directorial debut, Dougal Wilson steps in and soldiers on, but he can’t quite summon the same comic spirit. Still, “Paddington in Peru,” bright and buoyant, will do.
