With its unique foliage that offers exceptional autumn color, an oakleaf hydrangea is a wonderful choice for the garden. It can grow to 8 feet in height and 6 to 8 feet in width.
Oakleaf hydrangeas are known for their leaves which turn red and purple in the autumn. The plant also produces beautiful cream flowers in coned flowerheads which are produced from June to August.
There are single bloom and double blooming forms of oakleaf, both of them having large, white blooms. My personal favourite is Harmony, but Snowflake is another great double-blooming hydrangea.
