In his annual State of the State address this week, Gov. Phil Murphy backed a plan to direct New Jersey school districts to adopt policies to ban cellphones in classrooms, from elementary school through high school.

During his State of the State address on Tuesday, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy voiced support for policies to ban cell phones at K-12 schools. The Cherry Hill School District put their own policy into effect in 2023 and said it’s working well.
