Federal court upholds Texas ID requirement for mail-in ballots
A federal appeals court has upheld Texas' requirement that voters provide a driver's license or other identification number for their mail-in ballot to be counted. Political strategists Hyma Moore and Lance Trover join "The Takeout" with analysis.
In Pennsylvania, for example, the center estimates 750,000 voters lack the required type of photo ID. Barack Obama carried that state in 2008 by 600,000 votes.
Most people already have a license or other picture ID. If not, it’s easy to get one through the state. Voter rights should guarantee that each vote counts and the voter can prove who they are.
